LIST OF WEB SITES IDENTIFIED BY CLASS MEMBERS

During the advanced course session on the Internet and Online Services, class members identified (or later suggested) a number of web sites of possible interest to RVers. This class "work product" is reproduced below for the benefit of all online RVers attending the Life on Wheels Conference. [Note: in all cases the "http://" portion of the web address is omitted]

1. www.golfclubexchange.com This site is the place to go to sell those clubs which you thought would work but didn't; or to purchase the ones that didn't work for someone else, but will for you.

2. www.newellcoach.com Here's the home base for Newell. In a separate listing of links from RVers Online (www.rversonline.org) the links list includes 44 RV manufacturers, and 9 RV owners' clubs.

3. www.propanegas.com While this site seemed to be taking the afternoon off, it's intended function is to enter either a zip code or a city and state, and get a listing of all propane gas suppliers in the area. Handy when you're away from home and running low...

4. www.roadwarrior.com A site which offers all types of peripheral devices for that laptop you're carrying in the RV.

5. www.rvbeach.com The website of a quite nice looking RV park located on the Southern California coast near Pismo Beach.

6. www.npr.org Visiting a new area and wanting to find where to find the local radio channels for National Public Radio? Again, enter a zip code or city and state, and you'll get a full listing of where to set your dial.

7. www.mapsonus.com Here's a neat place to go when you want to create a routing for your next RV outing. Enter the city and state where you'll be starting, and the same for where you want to go, and it will both draw the map for you and give you detailed written instructions of precisely which roads to take.

8. www.fulltimers.com This one put us onto a menu page which suggested we'd find more information about full timing if we went further into the sub menus.

9. www.weather.com Among the favorite weather channels. Enter the city and state you'd like to check out, and you'll see not only the current conditions, but some very nice graphics portraying where the weather is going over the next five days.

10. www.efn.org A favorite among those in central Oregon, the Eugene Free Network appears to have a number of service offerings for residents of that area.

11. www.gorp.com The Great Outdoor Recreation Page -- a commercial site with extensive listings of products, services, and links to other sites which involve outdoor recreation.

12. www.nps.gov The National Park Service's extensive listing of National Park facilities in the United States, along with maps, descriptions, and an online reservation service.

13. www.lifeonwheels.com You guessed it, here's the Life on Wheels Association's very own web site, with lots of information for members. And of course you'll recognize the picture of that good looking gentleman smiling at you from his new place on the Internet!

14. www.bigcharts.com Check out your favorite stock or mutual fund, and see how it's been doing over the past week, month, or year; and then add in some information about how others in the industry have done during the same time period.

15. www.webflyer.com Want to get some bargains on airfare for next weekend? Each Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. the airlines provide a listing of some very special prices on tickets available for the following weekend only. Probably some deals you'll never find any other way.

16. www.towingworld.com This is a subtly commercial site which contains tons of good information about towed vehicles.
